Review & Description

"Joe Couch is very candid in the analysis that is made on various political issues and events. It is thought provoking, honest, and unbiased. I find it a refreshing view and one that should be unpacked, examined, then acted upon..."

- Donna M. Loring, House of Representatives, State of Maine (for 12 years) and Author of "In The Shadow of the Eagle: A Tribal Representative in Maine"

There is a movement afoot to seek meaningful and lasting change in hopes of saving the American Dream. Some people believe that polarizing voters or loud whining will be adequate to the task. But neither of those strategies has worked for decades, so just maybe it's time to try something new.

With an MBA from a top ranked school, skin the color of light putty and sunny good looks, Joe had it all. Joe believed what they told him in school and in church: Treat others how you want to be treated, get a good job, and "the money will come".

So Joe approached life optimistically, with a positive attitude backed up by hard work. But, like millions of others, Joe found that those social and political promises were BIG FAT LIES.

Life has not been the American Dream fully realized. Instead, Joe was thrown into an ocean of unethical behavior and asked to look the other way when some bad stuff went on, and not just in corporate boardrooms or backrooms, but in churches, government, and nonprofits.

Joe is no whiner, but when he talked with his friends and business acquaintances about some of his experiences, they told him stories as bad as or worse than his own. It was then that it really sunk in - - the slang phrase about the USA was the truth:

America really is screwed up.

Since he survived to tell, Joe now has a few ideas to share about how America got that way and how we've been put into a stalemate.

Joe deals daily with people in positions of power, money, and authority, and he shares how he sees the motivations of these and other people, laying out a logical argument for a somewhat different slant on people's motives from the way they have been simplistically portrayed in the media and in politics.

You'll also find here some "inside baseball": ideas certain political and special interest groups probably NEVER want you to understand.

Why? Because our problems in America might actually be solvable if you better understood the game that's being played and if you've decided you've had enough of swinging at their vapor balls.

Finally, Joe suggests how certain groups on both sides of the aisle entice you to help them continue their gambit to polarize the populace in order to ensure their own American Dream, perhaps at the expense of yours or others.

The only question left is: will enough of us "get it" soon enough?
