The Founding Five (Paperback)

The Founding Five
The Founding Five (Paperback)
By Maud Muller

Review & Description

Angered by Barry Goldwater’s defeat in the 1964 presidential election, five wealthy and powerful men devise a brilliant plan to get the United States moving in the right direction.

By the year 2035, the descendents of the first “Founding Five”, the name the conspirators have given themselves, secretly rule the nation through two entities created as fronts for their activities: the Coalition for Responsible Government and the Christian Confederation of America. Joshua Freeman stumbles upon the existence of the right-wing conspiracy while conducting research for his master’s degree in political science. He sets out to uncover the identity of the conspirators, but along the way falls in love with the deeply religious Elizabeth Whalen. Freeman soon realizes how dangerous the conspirators are and ends his relationship with Whalen. Out of spite, she marries the Reverend John Gables, High Minister of the Christian Confederation—a man who harbors deadly secrets of his own.

When the Founding Five learn that Freeman is preparing to expose them, he becomes a target. Can he survive long enough to get his story out to the people and even if he does, is it already too late for America to change?
